
New Medical Leave and Sick Leave Provisions.

New Guidance from Labour Canada in outlining the new Medical Leave and Sick Leave provisions identified in the Canada Labour Code. These paid leaves come into effect December 1,2022 and are in addition to the current Personal Leave Days identified in the Canada Labour Code .
Any member who is denied payment for Medical Leave, Sick Leave or Personal Leave Days under these regulations (as defined in the Canada Labour Code) or feels they have been targeted for discipline as a result of taking one of these leaves should immediately contact the:

If you call, they will assign you a case worker to ensure that if you are eligible for payment, that the company complies with the legislation and pays you .Also according to the regulations, at their discretion Labour Canada may now issue fines to any company covered by these regulations for noncompliance, disciplinary action against any employee who takes or intends to take leave, or for failing to follow a directive from the labour officer affixed to your file.
